Most parties need beer, and then comes the question: buy crates of bottles and cans, or hire a beer tap and a keg? Both work. Here's the comparison so you can choose what suits your party.

When does a beer tap make sense?

  • When you have 25 guests or more. One 30-litre keg gives around 85 glasses of 0.35 l, which is plenty for an evening with 25–30 people.
  • When the party is outdoors or in a tent. The tap chills the beer itself, so you don't need to worry about it warming up.
  • When you want less hassle. No ice buckets to refill and no bags of empty cans at the end of the evening.

When are bottles better?

  • A small party. For 10–15 guests it's often simpler to keep a few crates in the fridge.
  • Lots of different kinds. If your guests want to choose between many kinds, or if many of them drink alcohol-free beer, bottles are more flexible. You can also have a tap for the main beer and a few bottles on the side.
  • No power. The tap usually needs a 230 V socket.

About our beer tap

The beer tap is a compact countertop tap that chills the beer as it flows through, so you need neither ice nor water. A built-in air pump pressurises the keg, so you don't need a CO₂ cylinder. It pours 20–35 litres per hour, and hire is ISK 14,990 per day.

We connect the tap on site free of charge. You provide the keg. Let us know which keg you plan to use when you book, so we can confirm the coupler fits. The beer keeps best if the keg is used up within 48 hours of being connected.

Don't forget the glasses

Beer from a tap belongs in a glass. You can hire beer glasses at ISK 190 and return them unwashed, or buy disposable plastic cups, 50 to a pack, if the party is outdoors or large.
