Party tent 5×8 m – setup

How to put the tent up and take it down. Did you add setup and take-down? Then we handle all of this and you don't need to do anything.

Before you start

  • Check the forecast. The tent is not put up if the average wind is above 10 m/s or gusts are above 15 m/s.
  • The area must be flat and firm, at least 6 × 9 m, with 3 m of clear height free of branches, gutters and wires.
  • Clear away stones, branches and anything sharp so the cover doesn't tear.
  • Get help. Lifting the roof frame takes at least four people.

Step-by-step setup

Three steps: frame on the ground, one side up with the cover, tent up
1: frame assembled on the ground · 2: one side up and the cover pulled over · 3: the other side up and the walls on.
  1. Lay all poles and corners out on the ground as shown in the drawing above.
  2. Assemble the rafters: a long pole (2) and a short pole (1) joined with a connector (4). The long pole goes towards the eave and the short one towards the ridge.
  3. Push the assembled poles into the corners so the whole roof frame lies assembled on the ground. The 110° corners (5 and 6) go on the long sides and the 140° corners (7 and 8) on the ridge in the middle.
  4. Lift one long side and push the legs (3) into the corners on that side.
  5. Pull the roof cover over the frame and tie it securely.
  6. Lift the other long side and insert the remaining legs.
  7. Hang the side panels and fit the end panels.
  8. Secure the tent with the fixings supplied, then walk around and check that every joint is firm and the cover is well tied.

During the party

  • No open flames, grills or gas heaters inside the tent. Our electric heaters are fine.
  • If the wind goes above the limits, take your guests out and take the tent down. Not sure? Call +354 778 8817.

Taking down and returning

  1. Remove the side panels and end panels and fold them.
  2. Release the fixings, lift one side and take out the legs on that side, then the other side.
  3. Untie the roof cover and take it off the frame. Then take the frame apart.
  4. Shake grass and dirt off the covers and put everything back in the bags. Is the cover wet? Let it dry if you can, otherwise just let us know.

Patio heater – how to use

The heater is electric and ready as soon as it is plugged in.

Before switching on

  • Place the heater on a flat, stable surface at least 1 m from the tent fabric, walls and anything that can burn.
  • Don't cover the heater or hang anything on it.
  • Use an outdoor extension cord rated for the load and unroll it fully from the reel. Ideally each heater should be on its own circuit, not shared with a beer tap, oven or kettle.

Switching on and adjusting the heat

  1. Plug the heater in.
  2. Pull the cord to switch it on.
  3. Each pull moves to the next heat setting. There are three settings.
  4. The pull after the last setting switches the heater off.

Safety and packing up

  • Switch the heater off when nobody is near it and at the end of the evening, and unplug it.
  • The heating head gets very hot. Let it cool for a few minutes before moving or touching it.
  • Power keeps tripping? There is too much on the same circuit. Move the heater to a socket on another circuit.

Tables and benches – setup

The tables and benches take seconds to set up. The legs fold out and lock.

Setting up

  1. Lay the table on its side or upside down on a soft surface such as grass, so the top doesn't get scratched.
  2. Fold the legs out until they lock. Do the same at both ends.
  3. Turn the table over and stand it up. Check that the locks hold before anyone sits down.
  4. Set up the benches the same way.

Folding away

  1. Lay the table or bench on its side.
  2. Release the lock and fold the legs in. Mind your fingers.
  3. Wipe the top if anything has been spilled.

Beer tap – setup and use

We connect the tap to the first keg when we deliver it. Here is how to switch it on, adjust it, pour and change the keg if it runs out.

Setup

  1. Keep the tap on a stable table and the keg beside it or on the floor below. Keep the keg in the shade and somewhere cool.
  2. Plug the tap into a normal socket.
  3. Switch on the switch at the back of the tap.
  4. Turn the dial on the front of the tap (0–7) to 7. That gives the coldest beer and the least foam.
  5. Give the tap about 10 minutes to cool before pouring the first glass.

Pouring and adjusting the foam

  • To the right of the black handle there is a silver lever that controls the flow and the foam.
  • At the bottom, the most beer comes out, but also the most foam.
  • The higher the lever, the less foam and the easier it is to pour. All the way up, nothing comes out.
  • Hold the glass at an angle under the tap, pull the black handle fully forward and straighten the glass as it fills. Close the tap fully afterwards.
  • Too much foam? Move the silver lever up a little, check that the front dial is on 7 and wait about 30 seconds between glasses. The first glasses may foam more.

When the keg runs out: changing the keg

  1. You don't need to switch the tap off while you change the keg.
  2. Lift the handle on the coupler up so it closes, and remove the coupler from the empty keg.
  3. Fit the coupler on the new keg the same way it sat on the old one and press the handle down until it locks.
  4. Pour the first glass. It may foam a little.

Good to know

  • The new keg needs the same coupler type as the first one. Not sure? Call +354 778 8817 before connecting.
  • The tap pushes ordinary air into the keg, so the beer keeps best if the keg is finished within two days of connecting.
  • At the end of the party: switch off the back switch, unplug the tap, lift the coupler handle and remove the coupler from the keg. Wipe the tap if anything has been spilled.
