The space you need
Measure your garden before you book. The 5×8 m tent needs a level area of at least 6 × 9 m, and the 4×5 m tent at least 5 × 6 m. Both need 3 m of clear height, free of branches, gutters and wires. If the tents are to stand side by side, there must be room for both. If a tent can't be put up because of the space or the ground, the hire is not refunded, so it pays to measure.
How to lay out the tent
- Tables: 4–5 sets fit in the 5×8 m tent with a walkway between them, and around 2 sets in the 4×5 m tent.
- Buffet and bar: these take space away from seating. If both are to be inside the tent, allow for one set fewer.
- Heaters: place them along the sides, not in the walkway, and at least 1 m from the tent fabric.
