When you look for a party rental in the Reykjavik area, two names come up quickly: Rent a Party and RentEvent. Both rent out party equipment, but they focus on different things. Here is a short, fair comparison so you can pick what suits your party.
In short
- Choose RentEvent if the bar matters: a bartender who mixes and pours, a beer tap that chills on its own, glasses and syrups. We deliver everything to your door and collect it again.
- Choose Rent a Party if you mainly want a photo booth, a bouncy castle, decorations or lights and sound.
- Or use both. Plenty of people get the photo booth in one place and the bar in another. They go well together.

What RentEvent does differently
- We bring people, not just things. Our bartenders set up the bar, mix cocktails, pour beer and keep the bar tidy all evening. They bring shakers and the rest of the bar tools.
- Free delivery and collection. We bring the equipment to you and collect it again, free on orders over ISK 10,000 in Reykjavík, Kópavogur, Hafnarfjörður, Garðabær, Mosfellsbær, Seltjarnarnes and Álftanes. You don't have to pick anything up.
- A beer tap connected for you. The beer tap chills the beer as it pours and needs no ice and no CO₂ bottle. We connect it on site at no extra cost.
- Everything for the outdoor party. Party tents, patio heaters and table and bench sets for 6–8 people in one order. Tents can be booked from 31 March.
- Cocktails like at a bar. We sell syrups, passion fruit purée and juices, so the drinks taste like they do at a good cocktail bar.
- Companies can pay by invoice. We reply to enquiries within 24 hours and invoice your company directly.
When is Rent a Party the better fit?
Rent a Party has a very wide range, over 300 products, and photo booths are their speciality. If a photo booth, a photo backdrop, a bouncy castle or wedding decorations are the main thing at your party, that's where the range is. They also have a showroom in Kópavogur where you can pick things up.
