How the party calculator works
The calculator uses the same rules of thumb our bartenders use when they plan a bar for a party. The figures are a good starting point, but every party is different, so you can edit the enquiry before you send it. We confirm availability and send you a quote.
- Drinks: 2 per guest in the first hour and 1 per hour after that. For confirmations the figure is reduced by a third.
- Non-alcoholic: at least a quarter of the drinks, more at confirmations and graduations.
- Glasses: 2–3 per guest over the party, because there is no washing-up on site. You return the glasses unwashed.
- Bartender: one per 35 guests, ISK 8,990 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours.
- Beer tap: one per 60 guests. One 30-litre keg gives about 85 glasses.
- Tables and benches: one set per 7 seated guests, or per 14 guests if most people stand.
- Tents: 5×8 m holds about 30 seated or 45–60 standing, and 4×5 m about 15 seated or 30 standing. For larger groups the calculator suggests more tents.
- Heating and ice: one patio heater per 20 m² of tent, and 0.5 kg of ice per guest, or 1 kg if cocktails are on the menu.

How many drinks do I need per person at a party?
Allow 2 drinks per person in the first hour and 1 per hour after that. For a four-hour party that is about 5 drinks per person, and at least a quarter of them should be non-alcoholic. For confirmations and afternoon parties you can reduce the figure by a third.
How many glasses do I need for a party?
About 2–3 glasses per guest over the evening if there is no washing-up on site, or about 250 glasses for 100 people. You return the hired glasses unwashed and we do the washing-up.
How many bartenders do I need?
We recommend one bartender per 35 guests, so the queue at the bar stays short. A bartender costs ISK 8,990 per hour and the minimum is 2 hours.
Which party tent do I need?
The 5×8 m tent holds about 30 seated guests or 45–60 standing, and the 4×5 m tent about 15 seated or 30 standing. The calculator suggests as many tents as your guest count needs, and we confirm availability and send you a quote.
How do I get a quote for what the calculator suggests?
