New Year's Eve party at home: glasses, beer tap and a bartender

RentEvent

A bartender at a party venue

A New Year's Eve party needs three things: glasses for the toast at midnight, a bar that runs smoothly and someone to run it so the host can be with the guests. Here is a checklist, and an explanation of why it pays to book early.

1. The glasses

The toast at midnight deserves nice glasses. Rent wine glasses at ISK 349 or cocktail glasses at ISK 249 each, and highball or lowball glasses at ISK 190 for the other drinks. You return them unwashed after New Year, so the washing up isn't waiting for you on New Year's Day.

2. The bar

3. A bartender

A bartender costs ISK 8,990 per hour with a 2-hour minimum. They mix, pour and keep the bar tidy past midnight, so you can welcome the new year with your guests. We recommend one bartender for every 35 guests.

4. Non-alcoholic options

Not everyone wants alcohol, and some are driving. With syrups, fresh juice and mixers you can offer non-alcoholic cocktails that look just as good. Here are six recipes.

Book early

New Year's Eve is one of the biggest party nights of the year. Order online and choose a delivery day, or send us an enquiry. We confirm the delivery time between Christmas and New Year when you book, and whether a bartender is free on 31 December. A whole bar is priced up in bar hire in one order.
